Your gay fashion critique of the MLB All-Star Game Red Carpet Show

With all the designer labels and skin being shown off by baseball's finest, Elly de la Cruz puts the Cincinnati Reds in red carpet fashion. The post Your gay fashion critique of the MLB All-Star Game Red Carpet Show appeared first on Outsports.

From Kyle Schwarber’s swing-off home run binge to the American League’s furious yet futile ninth inning comeback, the 2025 MLB All-Star Game proved to be a highlight reel of stunning moments.

But some of the most impressive sights happened hours before the game when MLB’s brightest luminaries showed off their fits during the All Star Red Carpet Show.

Like the game itself, numerous lewks turned heads.

Red carpet fashion is all about cultivating an image that tells a story. Padres superstar Manny Machado’s white jacket posed the question, “What if Gold’s Gym hired a maitre’d?”

“This 1989 Chablis pairs well with a creatine shake and an Oatmeal Raisin PowerBar.”

His look proved to be a trend on the afternoon, as teammate Fernando Tatís Jr. also opted to walk the carpet in a white blazer and accessorized it with…no shirt whatsoever.

I swear, if the Swinging Friar shows up in a shirtless white blazer…

Tatís is in the middle of a $340-million contract and yet when I stare at this photo, all I can think is that I need to tip him in dollar bills.

Not to be outdone, rival pitcher Yoshiobu Yamamoto of the Dodgers went with his own version of the white jacket…

…leading L.A. fans to wonder when they missed the news that NHK Japan had greenlit a reboot of “The Love Boat.” If you ever pondered what it would look like if Captain Stubing could throw a 93-mph sinker, you have your answer.

From Aaron Judge to Paul Skenes to Bryce Harper, here are some of the standouts of MLB’s All-Star Game red carpet show.

A gay baseball fan’s guide to the hottest players at the All-Star Game
Sure, MLB has its own statistical methods to determine who’s an All Star. We prefer categories like Arms, Legs, Smile, and Glutes.

Kansas City’s Bobby Witt Jr. showed off jacket his lining paying tribute to the outfield fountains in Kauffman Stadium, one of the most stunning vistas in all of baseball.

And the jacket’s nice too…

Unfortunately, that inspired Royals owner John Sherman to immediately demand that the state of Missouri pay him $1.5 billion to tailor a new jacket or he’ll move the team to Kansas.

Hometown hero Ronald Acuña Jr. left no doubt as to which city he represented by sporting an Atlanta “A” pendant that could be photographed by either the paparazzi or the Hubble Space Telescope.

Acuña’s MVP season was impressive but let’s see him join the 40-70 club wearing THAT.

Alas, it appears that Acuña’s pendant was so expensive, he had to sell the sleeves from his blazer to afford it. Either that or he just invented the Brooks Brothers muscle shirt.

Remember Coco Chanel’s famous axiom that “Before you leave the house, you should look in the mirror and remove one item?” Apparently the first thing Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte noticed in his reflection was both sleeves and his shirt.

With this much teal, I had to double check to make sure this wasn’t from the 1992 All Star Game.

Yet for some reason, Marte decided to keep the two shoulder pads that he was inexplicably storing in his pants pockets as if the category was “Shoplifted from Play It Again Sports.”

“The Big Dumper” Cal Raleigh opted for a basic gray business suit…

…disappointing every fan who was hoping against hope that his agent would show him a clip of Prince’s infamous 1991 Video Music Awards jumpsuit.

If the Mariners really wanted to take advantage of Raleigh’s superstar turn, they’ll make that look their new City Connects.

The judges also give the Mariner Moose 10’s across the board for that T-shirt. Especially with the All Star Game being played in Georgia. Well played, Moose.

Overall, the day was won by the brilliant shortstop Elly de la Cruz, who took the concept of Cincinnati Reds and made it art.

Even though Kyle Schwarber was the MVP, de la Cruz won the crown.

It’s giving Johnny Bench meets Jackson Pollock.

How fitting that an All Star who led the league with 67 stolen bases last season would figure out how to steal the red carpet this year.
