At Barcalys Center, Liberty-Fever matchup features protests over trans athletes

The fight for trans athletes' rights was on full display during dueling protests outside the Barclays Center on Aug. 22 as the Brooklyn Nets took on the Indiana Fever. One of demonstrations served as a show of support for the right of trans athletes, while the other — which was much smaller — called for restrictions on trans athletes. The issue came up during the matchup between the Liberty and Fever just weeks after Fever forward Sophie Cunningham said trans women should not play in women's sports.
