Big Brother explodes as Salina EsTitties faces the block following anti-drag jab from Rick Devens

You can take the queen out of Drag Race, but you can’t take the Drag Race out of the queen!

The latest season of Big Brother is in full swing, and the 28th iteration of the trapped-in-a-house competition features a few faces already familiar to reality TV gays, including Survivor‘s Rick Devens and Jason De Puy, better known as Salina EsTitties.

We’re only six episodes into the new season, but the drama is already heating up, and to no one’s surprise, the gays are at the scene of the crime.

Kind of.

Unlike other reality shows, where we only see what the producers want us to, the cameras are rolling (and live-streaming) in the Big Brother house 24/7.

And while Salina is competing in the home out of drag, his profession was made known to his other housemates, which led to a very, erm, intriguing conversation between Devens and Kamuela “Kamu” Kirk, a 32-year-old MMA fighter from Arizona.

In the clip, Devens noticed one of their housemates, a man named Drew, had dressed in a woman named Mallory’s unicorn pajamas.

“I’m not doing that, bro,” Kirk commented, to which Devens cracked back with a slight at Salina: “Not until Jason’s [head of household.]”

“Miss me with the drag stuff, miss me with the — I’m still a MMA guy, I have an image to uphold,” Kirk added.

“That’s tough,” Devens agreed.

Of course, the interaction went viral on Gay Twitter X, as commenters speculated that Kirk started to say, “miss me with the gay stuff.”

The scene eventually caught the attention of Big Brother alum Frankie Grande, whose run in the show’s 16th season has been hailed as groundbreaking for LGBTQ+ representation.

“Get these homophobic bigots out of the f*cking house IMMEDIATELY,” Grande wrote in a post over the weekend. “Both of them. Ew this conversation makes me sick to my stomach.”

However, he later conceded that “there is not enough info in the clip to understand Deven’s motivations.”

“Hopefully, he was just [tapping] into Kamu’s energy for game reasons,” Grande added. “Regardless men behaving in a repulsed or shocked way when a man dresses feminine or in women’s clothing is homophobic. Period.”

Of course, the irony of Kirk later getting into a bathtub with two other straight dudes was not lost on the internet.

And gameplay or not, Grande had good reason for calling out any remotely anti-LGBTQ+ commentary, considering the show’s history with homophobia.

Last year, Mickey Rourke was removed from the house on the UK’s Celebrity Big Brother for “unacceptable behavior” after making anti-LGBTQ+ comments to his housemate JoJo Siwa, who was dating a nonbinary person at the time.

Big Brother and CBS are yet to comment on the conversation.

But, to be fair, it wouldn’t be out of character for Devens, a man whose manipulative gameplay made him Survivor royalty, to agree with his more red-pilled housemate to keep the peace.

That said, it isn’t earning him any favors with Salina, who called him a “f*cking dollar store Adam Sandler” in a hot mic moment.

“Drag queen,” she called him. “He’s a drag queen. He wants to put a wig on so bad. Clown.” LOL!

Of course, Salina is going to need Devens’ help if she wants to last another week; as of Sunday night’s episode, she was put on the chopping block alongside fellow contestants Melody Lewis and Lyric Medeiros.
