No, that is not a typo.

Las Vegas Aces ‘power straight’, and recent four-time MVP, A’ja Wilson couldn’t hold back her laughter in yesterday’s postgame presser, as she was pouring on the love to her teammate Chelsea Gray. The Aces crushed Indiana, 90-68, in their Game 2 victory, evening the best-of-five series at one win each.

While complimenting Gray’s defensive contributions, Wilson said “she’s someone that I believe could be on an All-Defensive team…she’s doing a lot that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet…the way that she can just…get her hands on balls….”, before she and coach Becky Hammon couldn’t hold back their giggles.

A’ja, always up for a laugh with her team, chimed in, “as a woman with a wife” after noting Gray’s “hands on balls” play.

It’s a clip I’ve watched on repeat, as it shows so much more than just a silly interaction.

The Las Vegas Aces are looking to win their third title in four years, and their chemistry shows how that feat is possible. The players know each other deeply, both on and off the court, and they uplift each other every chance they can.

Wilson takes her title of “power straight” to a level unlike anyone else, as the former No. 1 overall draft pick by the Aces has made her own annual Pride tradition: Each year she brings in a Pride-themed cake for her LGBTQ+ teammates.

It’s always done with love, and in Wilson style, usually features plenty of laughs.

It’s going to take continued team chemistry to fuel the Aces past their semifinal opponent, an underdog Indiana team. With star Caitlin Clark as one of five Indiana players out for the season, the team has relied on their bench and recent additions to reach the WNBA Semifinals for the first time in ten years. Indiana yet to win a title since 2012.

A crucial Game 3 takes place this Friday, as the Las Vegas and Indiana teams head to Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis in this best-of-five series. Game 4 is on Sunday in Indiana, and if needed, a deciding Game 5 on Tuesday in Las Vegas.

We’ll see if Gray gets her hands on any more balls throughout the rest of this series….the Aces are certainly hoping she does.
