Gay Halloween, Gianmarco & showgays: 10 things we’re obsessed with this week
It's been a WEEK for 'Brokeback,' rage-bait, and Taylor Swift bops.

Somehow, we turned the calendar and it’s October… even though it feels like Pride Month was last week. Perhaps it’s not a total surprise, considering the past seven days of LGBTQ+ news flew by in a similar whirlwind.
We not only theorized about gay Nicole Kidman and gushed over Mariah Carey’s punk moment, but Kit Connor got a mustache. Plus, twunks did it better, Tiffany Pollard brought us to our knees, we mourned Mid-Century Modern, and Ricky Martin took the world’s best selfie. Otherwise, our feeds have been filled with Brokeback, rage-bait, and Taylor Swift bops.
How about we take this to the next level?

Without further ado, we present the 10 things we’re obsessed with this week…
1. Brokeback Mountain (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Vinyl

Brokeback Mountain‘s 20th anniversary is the gay gift that keeps giving! For the first time, its emotional soundtrack is making its long-awaited vinyl debut ($39.98 on Urban Outfitters) on a color called — what else? — Brokeback green. The special release includes a gatefold jacket, 16-page booklet, and is limited to only 2000 copies, so don’t slow your horses. When it comes to my vinyl addiction, I wish I could quit you.
2. Gay Halloween Prints

No one goes as hard — or as hot — for Halloween as the gays. That’s why I’m absolutely obsessed with queer art studio, The Werkroom’s line of prints on The Pride Store featuring some spooky spins on our favorite characters. My personal faves are Golden Horror, starring a nightmarish Golden Girls quartet, the naughty-looking Scream, and jock party-ready Jason, available as 9×9 or 14×14 prints, and starting at $21.99.
3. The Pillion trailer
After watching the trailer for Alexander Skarsgård‘s new dom-com — and learning what attracted him to the role — February 2026 can’t come soon enough. Gay men deserve their Babygirl moment, too!!!
4. This rage-bait tweet about gay open relationships
OK, there’s a 99.9% chance that this viral tweet about gays in open relationships by @JDabknee is a joke, considering his bio reads “single and tall.” LOL. But that didn’t stop Gay Twitter X from having a field day about its implications, to hilarious and dramatic effect.
I don’t even care about the ridiculous planning. My biggest question: Why Olive Garden?!
5. The sexiest tote bag I’ve ever seen

The Everyday Zip Top Tote from Steele Canvas Basket Corp is, and I don’t say this lightly, a sexy bag. Just look at it!
With six pockets, a water-resistant vinyl bottom, a zippered top, and a functional but stylish shape, it’s giving gym/going out/fulfilling your guncle duties-realness, all at once. Plus, you can snag this made-in-the-USA beauty ($109) in either natural or black canvas.
6. Chad Powers
I don’t want to give too much away about Glenn Powell’s new Hulu series Chad Powers, which follows the story of a canceled football player who goes through a makeover to keep playing the game he loves. But the hunky actor is in his sweet spot, and a sassy gay mascot is integral to the plot!
7. The shirt-rip heard ’round the globe
I think every gay person needs to send flowers to the generous person who choreographed Robert Irwin‘s latest Dancing With the Stars performance. Or at least an edible arrangement.
8. A Mannequin for Christmas by Timothy Janovsky
I know what you’re thinking: It’s too damn early for a Christmas book! But hear me out, by the time I actually have a second to sit down and read, it’ll probably be New Year’s Eve. That said, I will always make time for queer romance author Timothy Janovsky, whose previous MLM seasonal novels have become my favorite holiday reads.
His latest, A Mannequin for Christmas ($18 on Amazon), is billed as “A Christmas romance for Barbie fans who wished Ken and Allan got their own love story.” When a down-on-his-luck gay wishes for “the perfect man,” a little Christmas magic turns a mall mannequin into his potential happily ever after… assuming he can teach him how to love. I’m already kicking my feet and blushing!
9. Gianmarco Soresi
God bless the hilarious and handsome Gianmarco Soresi, who’s not gay but….
His new YouTube special, Thief of Joy, is one of the best things I’ve watched all year.
10. Showgirl and showgay-worthy phone cases

There’s no denying that it’s Taylor Swift’s weekend, and we’re just living in it. In case you’ve been cohabitating under a rock, the pop juggernaut dropped her highly anticipated twelfth album, The Life of a Showgirl, on Friday, and it’s about to be the only point of discourse for the next 48 hours. (On that note, I’m happy to report a song called “Wood” is a surprisingly groovy and h*rny stand-out that might be nodding at a 2021 gay stan Twitter post, and “Ruin the Friendship” will make you cry.)
Swiftie or not, “showgirl” is about to infiltrate every corner of the culture, and I’m getting ahead of the game, thanks to CASETiFY. Their durable Showgirl Heartlights, Showgirl Feathers, Showgirl Glow Sparkles phone cases — made from recycled materials — are available for nearly every model known to man, for $50 and up. My iPhone has never looked so protected, trendy, or orange.
