“I can’t wait to buy this”: Nobody’s more excited about that fake Melania Tr*mp Vanity Fair cover than MAGA homophobes

Republicans always swoon whenever they receive a modicum of recognition from the cultural elite they profess to hate. Nobody embodies the long-running phenomenon more than the president himself, an old queen who loves nothing more than reminiscing about his magical evening at Cats and gabbing with reporters from the New York Times.
Shunned from Hollywood and Broadway, the Home Alone 2 star engineered his election this year as head of the Kennedy Center. He plans to host the institution’s annual honoree ceremony in December, presenting him with the spot he’s always coveted the most: prime-time.
During his first reign of terror, one of his many repeated grievances was Melania’s absence in the pages of glossy fashion mags. Michelle Obama was on 12 magazine covers in her two terms as First Lady.
So far, Melania has been on none.

But maybe, just maybe, that will soon change. Vanity Fair‘s new editor is apparently thinking about featuring the unwitting FLOTUS in a future cover story. The item was reported as part of a recent feature story in Semafor about the legacy’s mag current revamp. With its prestige waning, Mark Guiducci is considering a slate of changes.
Writing profiles about conservatives appears to be one of them. Guiducci has “told people he’s potentially interested in putting Melania Trump on the cover,” writes Max Tani.
The piece, which covers topics ranging from the exit of legendary editor Graydon Carter to Guiducci’s editorial vision, runs more than 2,100 words. Of those, 12 are about Guiducci “potentially” being interested in publishing photos of Melania.
That was enough to send MAGA sycophants into overdrove. This is one desperate crew!
Laura Ingraham was the thirstiest, posting a fake cover of Vanity Fair that she seemed to think was real. “Let the meltdown begin,” wrote the homophobic Fox News host. “Love it.”
With a superimposed crown around Melania’s head, the image is obviously phony. After facing ridicule, Ingraham tried to act like she understood the joke.
“Real or not real…hilarious to read the Left’s reaction,” she posted.
Sure, sis. Whatever you need to tell yourself…

Melania’s most notable imprint on the White House has been paved over.
For those wondering, Ingraham’s chiding over the left for its “reaction” seems to stem from an anonymous quote in the Daily Mail. The right-wing rag published scathing remarks from an anonymous “mid-level” VF editor about a possible Melania cover story.
The editor said they will “walk out the mother*cking door” and bag groceries at Trader Joe’s if Melania is featured. “We are not going to normalize this despot and his wife; we’re just not going to do it,” the person said.
Per usual, MAGA mouth-breathers have jumped on the random employee’s comments. “Page Six” slammed VF‘s”disgruntled woke staff” and a host on Fox & Friends promised to buy “several” magazines just to “prove a point.”
Meanwhile, far-right grifters, including Charlie Kirk and the all-mighty “Catturd,” are sharing the fake Melania cover themselves.
“I can’t wait to buy this and frame it,” cooed Laura Loomer about a cover that doesn’t exist.
No word on whether she feels the same way about the very real and very beautiful cover featuring Gavin Newsom, which his press office shared Thursday night.
For her part, Melania appears as excited about a Vanity Fair cover as she is about being First Lady. “Page Six” cites a source who says she “laughed” at the request and rejected it immediately.
No word on whether the request was actually made, or if it was just another MAGA fantasy.
