People can’t get over Evan Mulrooney’s gold speedo glow up after old college photos resurface

Mulrooney found new fans after his appearance on 'Drag Race All Stars' season 11.

Internet comic and actor Evan Mulrooney has seen his follower count shoot up over the last few days. It’s thanks to his appearance on the Drag Race All-Stars season 11 finale last week.

It wasn’t his first appearance on the show. The hunky, 6’4” stunner was also a guest judge a couple of weeks ago on a semi-finals show. Some viewers may have also spotted him in RuPaul’s recent movie, Stop! That! Train!, or already be a fan of Mulrooney’s comedy sketches on Instagram.

However, on last week’s finale, he reappeared as a surprise, comic addition to the Pit Crew. He sported just a pair of figure-hugging, gold briefs.

The internet responded accordingly.

He apparently picked up more followers on Instagram over the last fortnight than five of the six semi-finalist queens competing in All-Stars.

College days photos resurface

For many, All-Stars proved their first introduction to Mulrooney. The actor was born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware. He first made waves as a football player at school. He won a full scholarship to play football at the University of Maryland.

However, he soon realized that football was not where his heart lay. After college, he moved to Chicago in 2016 to pursue stand-up comedy and take acting classes. He appeared in Fargo in 2020 and Only Murders In The Building in 2025, among other shows.

Following last week’s attention-grabbing appearance on Drag Race, internet sleuths have dug out some old photos of Mulrooney from his college days. One post on Threads has gone viral for highlighting what it says is his “Pokémon gay evolution”.

It’s worth noting Mulrooney uses “bisexual” and “queer” to define his sexuality, and not, as far as we are aware, “gay.”

The old photos appear to come from college football websites.

Given his leading-man looks, we have a feeling Mulrooney’s stock is set to rise. His next completed projects are a TV comedy series called Frankie For Hire (see below), and the movies Start Without Me and What the F*ck Is My Password?! (the latter alongside Stephen Dorff and Kal Penn).
