Just in time for Halloween, English synth-pop duo Pet Shop Boys have dropped a spooky new remix of their chart-topping 1987 single “It’s A Sin” with a cinematic twist courtesy of film composer Bryce Miller.

“CRANK” by Slayyyter

SLAYYYTER is back and she’s giving chaotic pop goddess energy with “CRANK,” a distorted, delirious meltdown. It’s all fuzz, filth, and fierce one-liners, and it doesn’t follow pop rules, it shreds them in six-inch heels.

“Human Nature (Howie Tee New Edit)” by Madonna

Speaking of pop goddesses, in anticipation of the release of her EP Bedtime Stories: The Untold Chapter, featuring early demos, alternate versions, and remixes from her 1994’s Bedtime Stories recording sessions, Madonna shared a new edit of Howie Tee’s remix of the album’s fourth single “Human Nature.” The 8-track EP is out November 28.

“LOVER GIRL” by Megan Thee Stallion

After blessing us with “Whenever” back in April, Megan Thee Stallion just served her second solo offering of the year, “Lover Girl.” The song includes a sample of ’90s R&B group Total’s iconic 1996 slow jam “Kissin’ You,” giving it a flirty and nostalgic vibe.

Other noteworthy releases…

We haven’t even hit Halloween yet, but David Archuleta’s already jingling his bells with a new holiday bop called “Christmas in California.” Meanwhile, Pentatonix said move over, Mariah” and gifted us Christmas in the City, packed with festive faves and fresh originals. Over in the country corner, Brandi Carlile finally unwrapped her soul-searching new album Returning to Myself, and, yes, we’re emotional about it. Oh, and if you need something spicier for your playlist, Young Miko’s “Likely Likely” just dropped, and Pabllo Vittar teamed up with Cobrah and NMIXX for a “MEXE” remix that’s pure club glitter.

Before you go…

This week, representatives for musician Dave Ball revealed he “passed away peacefully in his sleep at his London home” at the age of 66. A cause of death has yet to be disclosed.

Ball was the instrumentalist in the English synth-pop duo Soft Cell, working alongside vocalist Marc Almond. The two helped usher in the second British invasion of musical artists in the ’80s, most notably with their chart-topping hit “Tainted Love.”

On Instagram, Almond paid tribute to his bandmate by calling him a “brilliant musical genius” and thanking him for “being an immense part of my life and for the music you gave me.” Check out Queerty’s deep dive into the song “Tainted Love” and how it came to known as both a gay anthem and a rallying cry during the AIDS crisis.
