“The hardest thing is choosing a movie to watch”: Tristan Schukraft opens up on life with, checks notes, six boyfriends

Entrepreneur Tristan Schukraft is dubbed the “CEO of Everything Gay.” Not only does he own The Abbey in West Hollywood, but also the growing Tryst hotel brand. He’s also the CEO of a telehealth PrEP company that delivers life-saving, preventative medication to over 700,000 men.
To many, Schukraft leads an enviable life. Besides his business empire, he hangs out with the likes of Madonna and Kylie (The Abbey hosted an exclusive Confessions II party earlier this year), and zips around the world in his own private jet with his two four six boyfriends.
In a recent radio interview with John Hill on SiriusXM, Schukraft explained his living arrangements further.

“One big family”
Schukraft’s longest-running partner is his fiancé, Melvin Alexander. They have been together seven years. Schukraft proposed to Alexander in 2024 at the South Pole in Antarctica.
Hill asked Schukraft if he’s married to Alexander, but the businessman confirmed that they’re still engaged, and likely to remain so.
“I don’t think we’ll ever get married. I would say Melvin is my forever fiancé. So that’s where we are. Now, we’re like one big family.”

Schukraft confirmed that he and his boyfriends all live together.
Is it always harmonious?
“We get along,” Schukraft told Hill. “Well, it’s like any family, you know. Sometimes not everyone gets along, right?”
As for sleeping arrangements, they don’t all sleep in one big bed. In fact, Schukraft says it’s more like him being in three different throuples. He and Alexander have one boyfriend, and then he’s also involved with two other couples within the same home.
“We all get along, and I think the hardest thing is literally choosing a movie to watch together.”
Online, reaction to the interview was divided between congratulatory and judgemental. Others just thought it was crazy.
“This is nuts,” joked one person. “14 nuts, to be exact!”
“Who doesn’t want six boyfriends, right?”
Schukraft also talked about his atypical living arrangements earlier this year in a podcast interview with TS Madison.
Referencing his background, Schukraft quipped he was, “pretty much 96% German [but] I would say, because all my boyfriends are Latino, I would have more Latino in me.”
Madison asked him how this happy family of queer love had developed.
“I don’t know how that happened, actually. It obviously started with Melvin. We’ve been together for seven years. And then, you know, you just hang out. One night leads to a weekend or a week and, uh, friendships develop into boyfriends. So yeah, we’re like one family. This is how I got into the hotel business. It was cheaper than paying all their rent.”
Schukraft told Out in April that he doesn’t care what people think about his polyamorous personal life.
“There’s a lot of love in our family! I never really worry about what people think of me. When you embrace that, then you’re happier as well. I just go into everything assuming it’s OK. When you have that mentality, people embrace it. Who doesn’t want six boyfriends, right?”
Growing empire
Earlier this year, Schukraft acquired the iconic Crown & Anchor in Provincetown. Following a planned renovation, it will be relaunched as The Tryst Provincetown for next year’s season.
Schukraft’s Tryst Hospitality group already operates a luxury hotel in Mexico: The Tryst Puerto Vallarta. It launched in April 2025. Sites for future hotels have been secured in Wilton Manors, Rio de Janeiro and Fire Island Pines (where Schukraft already owns a big portion of the commercial space).
