StudBudz, the Twitch channel and livestream hosted by out LGBTQ WNBA veterans Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman, has gained more than 40,000 followers in a matter of weeks.

Williams and Hiedeman — self-proclaimed “studs” — started a livestream on a whim as two buds (and WNBA teammates) hanging during a Minnesota Lynx road trip. The duo now livestream on every day that isn’t a game day. They stream themselves hanging out, sitting and chatting, sometimes watching a WNBA game or other sporting event and often talking themselves into viral moment after viral moment.

The two are characters by themselves and they channel their “stud” status as butch lesbians in the WNBA. The livestream is no stranger to surprise guests, as Lynx teammates are often featured. Napheesa Collier came on the show and told them she’d never let her daughter date them, Allisa Pilli showed off her singing skills and Diamond Miller is a recurring guest.

When I tuned into the stream as I started to write this piece, I was greeted by Hiedeman eating a slice of pizza seated in a chair on camera, while Williams struggled to get a dog off the couch in the other room. Williams could be heard talking off-camera for a few minutes while Hiedeman stares off and plays with the troublesome dog. When I tuned in on the Friday of All-Star weekend, the pair was livestreaming from the back of a shared scooter, on their way to Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. It sounds simple, it is simple and it’s simply gold.

They were in Indianapolis for the All-Star Weekend, where Williams was named to her second All-Star team. Making true on a promise to do a 72-hour livestream if one of them was selected to be an All-Star, the StudBudz livestreamed on Twitch the entire weekend. Do yourself a favor and catch up on the clips the pair got from Thursday’s All-Star festivities. From Caitlin Clark and Kate Martin to Angel Reese, everyone makes an appearance on the StudBudz stream.

What’s next for the duo? Williams and Hiedeman have talked about merch, but that is likely only the tip of the iceberg for the new streamers. After the pair have already made due on their promise to dye Courtney’s hair pink if they got 1,000 followers, we can be certain there’s a lot more in store from these StudBudz. And we’re so grateful to studs Williams and Hiedeman for that.
