These two former Penn State and 76ers guys just got engaged
Zack Neiner and Lee Cary have been together as a couple at Penn State and the 76ers, and now the gay men are engaged.

Two gay men have gotten engaged to marry one another, 12 years after they first met in college.
Zack Neiner and Lee Cary have been friends and boyfriends for a long time. Now they will be husbands after they marry. When will the wedding be? The guys didn’t share that part of their journey just yet.
Yet they did share with Outsports the story of their engagement, back at Penn State where they met, and the reaction they’ve received.

“When we arrived at the Arboretum on Saturday at sunset,” Neiner told Outsports via Instagram DM, “we walked up to the koi pond where a cellist was playing the song Lee wants to use for our first dance, ‘Yellow Lights’ by Harry Hudson.
“That’s when I got down on one knee.”

Lee Cary felt lost after coming out as gay. But he has found personal and professional satisfaction with the Philadelphia 76ers.
Since that moment days ago at their alma mater, Neiner and Cary have received an incredible amount of messages of love and support.
In 2026, two men falling in love just seems to get over and over a huge amount of love, it seems.
“The reaction has been an outpouring of love and support. It’s been special to see all the texts, DMs, and comments we’ve received from so many different people in our lives.”
There was a particular note to the men that they felt was particularly meaningful.
“One moment that especially meant a lot to us was seeing The Daily Collegian comment on the post,” Neiner said. “It’s where we met 12 years ago as aspiring sports reporters.”
The two guys didn’t become sports reporters. Neiner is now a senior communications manager at Red Bull Media House. Cary is lead of sponsorship marketing strategy for Deloitte.
While they met at Penn State, they also worked together for a few years at the Philadelphia 76ers.
Outsports is excited for the two gay guys and we wish them a lifetime of support together.
