Unbelievably Scary Video of Deadly Tornado by Storm Chaser in Oklahoma
A storm chaser came dangerously close to a deadly tornado that devastated parts of Oklahoma this week, and not only survived but captured the entire experience on video.Reed Timmer, who describes himself on his YouTube channel as a “storm chaser, meteorologist, and an educator,” was in a vehicle chasing a tornado in Cole, Oklahoma, on Wednesday. The tornado, later classified as an EF-3 level, killed two people in Cole and left thousands without power. Timmer kept driving and talking to his passengers as he passed shredded homes and downed powerlines.“It’s in front of us, guys!” Timmer can be heard exclaiming on the video. “Big tornado right in front of us!”Debris could be seen whipping past the vehicle through the air and power transformers exploding to his right. He even drove under live powerlines that were draped precariously over the two-lane road. He was eventually stopped by a downed pole and powerline that blocked the road.According to The Oklahoman, the tornado killed at least two people in Cole and damaged a wedding venue and multiple homes, some still under construction. Another person was killed by a tornado just outside of town. A later tornado tore off the roof of a Lowe’s store and overturned vehicles on Interstate 40.State Sen. Jessica Garvin, R-Duncan, visited damaged areas late Wednesday.“It was extremely dark, but even at night I could see the scope of the devastation was shocking. I’d ask for all Oklahomans to please pray for those impacted throughout the state, especially for the families of those who were killed, those injured in the storm and those who have been displaced,” State Sen.
