WATCH: The gayest movie & TV trailers that dropped in October 2026
The past month, we got first looks at a gay sports romance, Oscar-buzzed indies, and the final seasons of two beloved queer shows.

Somehow, October is almost over, which means both Halloween and the 2026 Midterm Election Day are right around the corner—and we don’t know which one is scarier! (Actually, yes we do!)
So, if you’ve been preoccupied with justifiably fretting over the state of the world and/or preparing your funny/skimpy/impossibly niche gay costume, then you might’ve missed the trailers for some highly anticipated queer movies & TV shows that dropped over the past month.
Of late, we’ve been treated to previews for all sorts of up-and-coming LGBTQ+ entertainment, including a gay sports romance that’s giving “Heated Rivalry but make it tennis,” an animated tearjerker and WWI-set love story that are both generating early Oscar buzz, and first looks at the final seasons of two beloved, highly queer-inclusive TV series.
To help you stay ahead of it all, we’ve assembled a recap of the best and gayest trailers that hit the internet throughout October with reminders of when and where you can watch each title.
Check them all out below and mark your calendars accordingly!
Prime
From indie filmmaker Jon Garcia (who previously helmed the gay Mormon missionary romance trilogy The Falls), Prime is an unconventional love story about happy Portland, OR couple Joe (Logan Thomason) & Amelia (Hope Garcia) who have an open marriage and are making it work. That is, until Amelia begins to spend more time with Luca (Alex Christian), stoking Joe’s insecurities. But when he strikes up a connection with handsome deliveryman Oli (Adriel Irizarry) and begins to come to terms with the fact that he might be queer, they’ll realize that what makes love so difficult to define is what makes it so wonderful.
Coming to digital/VOD platforms on November 10.

The Body
From actress-turned-writer/director Quinn Shepard (Under The Bridge), this coming-of-age psychological thriller is sure to be all the rage this fall. Set within the pressure-cooker world of a dance troupe at a Catholic all-girls school, a team initiation ritual goes terribly wrong, which stirs up chaos in their local community when the teens begin experiencing prophetic visions of the future… or are they? Inspired by the likes of Carrie, Heavenly Creatures, and Mean Girls, The Body aims to put a dark spin on stories of teenaged girlhood with a welcome dose of religious horror and a real camp appeal—did we mention the Gabby Windey plays the team’s coach???
Streaming on Netflix November 11.
Yellowjackets, Season 4
They’re baaaack! After barely surviving for 19 months stranded in the Canadian Wilderness, the girls are rescued and greeted with a hero’s welcome back in suburban New Jersey, but this is no happy homecoming. Over the past three seasons, we’ve watched how dire times turned the group against each other with gnarly results, making horrifying decisions that continued to haunt them well into adulthood. In the sure-to-be-explosive final season of this queer-inclusive survival drama, we’ll finally find out what happened when they got back—and what’s been eating away at them (pun intended?) in the 25 years since. Who’s hungry?
Premiering November 20 on Paramount+.

Forty Love
In this French language romantic drama, rising tennis superstar Sacha Gallo (Paul Kircher) is training with his retired pro father (Guillaume Canet) for a major championship in Paris but gets thrown off his game when he meets a fierce and flirty British rival (Romeo Beckham, as in the son of David & Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham). Is there a real spark between them, or is he just trying to throw Sacha off his game? If it all sounds like “Heated Rivalry on the tennis court,” you’re not wrong for thinking that, though the film’s first French-language trailer teases that this would-be love story might have a much darker, bloodier edge.
Opening in French theaters November 25; stay tuned for U.S. release details.
The Hunting Wives, Season 2
Netflix’s mystery-drama set in deep-red state Texas became a surprise sensation in its first season, due in no small part to the fact that it was very, very sapphic. When costal elite young mom Sophie (Brittany Snow) has to relocate to MAGA country, she quickly discovers things are a whole lot gayer behind closed doors between queen bee Margo (Malin Akerman) and her gun-totin’ girlfriends. This time, with blood on their hands and their romance on the rocks, Sophie & Margo have to contend with a Real Housewives-esque reality show that just might dig up all of their town’s dirty little secrets. Oh, it’s about to go down in the south!
Streaming on Netflix November 26.
P-Valley, Season 3
It’s been four long years since since the celebrated strip club drama wrapped up its second season, but that hasn’t lessened our excitement for its return, especially as the upcoming third season promises to bring this story to its fittingly climactic conclusion. This time around, a new casino brings new clientele to the Mississippi Delta, but as always, it’s “more money, more problems” for entrepreneur Uncle Clifford (Nicco Annan) and their club The Pynk just as they were hoping to expand the empire. Meanwhile, their partner Lil Murda ( (J. Alphonse Nicholson) finds that his shady past might hold him back from pursuing his rap career.
Premiering December 4 on Starz.

Coward
At just 35, out Belgian filmmaker Lukas Dhont has already established himself as one of the most acclaimed voices on the international cinema scene, breaking through with the Cannes’ Caméra d’Or & Queer Palm winner Girl in 2018, and following that up with 2022’s Close, nominated for an Academy Award. Inspired by real photos of soldiers in drag during WWI, his latest heads to the frontlines, where young, out-of-his-depth recruit Pierre (Emmanuel Macchia) finds escape from the doom and gloom in amateur theater productions performed by the troops—and particularly in his growing connection with their director, Francis (Valentin Campagne).
Opening in select theaters beginning December 25.
Tangles
No, not Tangled, Disney’s CGI animated riff on Rapunzel—Tangles, the beautifully hand-drawn, black-and-white animated indie adapted from Sarah Leavitt’s heart-wrenching memoir of the same name. It follows young queer woman Sarah (Abbi Jacobson) chasing her dreams in 1990s San Francisco, who has to return to her conservative hometown when her mother (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) begins to succumb to Alzheimer’s. This highly acclaimed story of love and loss premiered at Cannes, and its star-studded voice cast includes Bryan Cranston & Seth Rogen, plus queer faves like Bowen Yang, Wanda Sykes, Beanie Feldstein & Samira Wiley.
