Queer kink lovers from across the world flocked to London earlier this month.

Europe is famed for some particularly sleazy gatherings, such as Folsom Europe in Berlin and Darklands in Belgium. Another festival to add to the list is Fetish Week London (FWL).
The event is coordinated by Recon, and the 15th annual gathering took place from July 5-12.
The eight days, incorporating two weekends, are always packed with activities. The fact that it also coincided with Pride London is an added bonus, and participants were able to walk with the Recon contingent in the city’s huge Pride parade on July 4th.

The schedule included a dozen different masterclass workshops. Themes included ‘Cruising In The Era Of Consent’ and ‘Mental Health In Kink Spaces’. There were also markets for those wishing to stock up on new gear, and a screening of the biker movie, Pillion.
Then there were the associated club events. These include a Cabaret Night, a big ‘Full Fetish’ all-nighter at Electrowerkz in Islington, and the very popular Recon members-only party at Fabric in Clerkenwell.
In total, there were over 30 events, with 20 different DJs to help create the right mood. Many were pretty wild and we’ve had to go with the tamer photos!
“Community through shared knowledge”
“We kept all favourite official events but added new elements to make it an even greater experience for the fetish and kink community,” said a spokesperson to GayCities.
“The Gear Market got bigger, providing space for independent brands to showcase and sell their products, alongside Clonezone’s residency pop-up. The Social Hub grew together with the Gear Market, with masterclasses, demos and new socials open to the general public, creating community through shared knowledge.
“Following last year’s success of the Bator Bro’s room takeover at the Sports Cruise, it of course returned this year. We also partnered with them to create Reset, a chill space and quieter room where connections are built at a slower pace than the hecticness of the darkroom.”
They singled out the members’ party as a highlight.
“It is our way to thank our community. Five hundred members are selected for the kick-off party of Fetish Week London, a free social event with live DJs, open bar, and drag and circus acts.”
The team have not yet confirmed the dates for 2027, but it always runs the week after Pride London, which usually takes place the first Saturday in July.
