The annual Pines Party took place on Fire Island from Friday, July 31 to Sunday, August 2.
The event’s history dates back to 1999, though it was inspired by gatherings that go even further back. A fundraiser called The Morning Party debuted in The Pines in 1983. It was inspired by a previous community fundraiser called Beach ‘79.
The gathering has evolved over the years and now has the feel of a queer and inclusive house music gathering. The production values are always high.

Besides offering a hedonistic escape in blissful surroundings, Pines Party also acts as a fundraiser. A portion of the proceeds goes to several causes. This includes the Stonewall Community Foundation, The Pines Foundation, and the Seashore Defense Fund.
There’s a different theme each year, with 2026’s “Altar Ego” prompting attendees to look toward myths, legends, and ancient rituals for inspiration. The event included both day and night parties.
“One of our goals this year was to make Altar Ego feel like more than just a theme,” Tim Dejsiriudom, Marketing Director for Pines Party, told GayCities. “We wanted it to become a shared experience that guests, artists, sponsors, and volunteers could all interpret in their own way.
“Watching that vision come to life across the weekend, from the incredible costumes and performances to the immersive sponsor activations, was truly rewarding. It was a reminder that the best events aren’t just produced; they’re created together by an entire community.”
“Largest production to date”
Nick Ammaturo, Co-Executive Producer of this year’s event, said, “Pines Party 2026 was an extraordinary success and our largest production to date.
“In our 27th year, we welcomed a record 82 sponsors, sold more cabanas than ever before, and saw record participation from homeowners across Fire Island Pines. At a time when many companies are scaling back their DEI initiatives, we had to work harder than ever to reach our fundraising goals. That made the overwhelming support we received from local businesses and independent brands all the more meaningful, and we’re incredibly grateful for their partnership.
“What made this year truly special, though, was watching our community embrace the theme of Altar Ego with so much creativity, confidence, and joy. Everyone showed up fearlessly and authentically, creating an atmosphere that was inspiring, welcoming, and unforgettable.
“Producing our biggest Pines Party yet taught us a great deal, and we’re already thinking about how we can build on this year’s success and make next year’s event even better.”
