Entertainment and politics converge at Provincetown Women’s Week
The annual Provincetown Women's Week festivities returned Oct. 12-18 with a days-long slate of entertainment, gatherings, and a No Kings rally to mobilize voters. Provincetown also hosted Trans Week Oct. 18-25. Early in Women's Week, attendees watched two lesbian-focused documentaries: ESPN's 2026 "30 for 30" film "Give Me the Ball" about tennis legend Billie Jean King, and "Mary Oliver, Saved by the Beauty of the World," about the poet who won a Pulitzer Prize. The week of events featured plenty of Dyke comedy — and comic Lea DeLaria was also on hand, delivering a music performance this year. Women's Week activities also featured a continuation of the 50-year celebration of the Womencrafts Bookstore. At the No Kings rally, demonstrators came equipped with signs denouncing President Donald Trump and urging individuals to vote in the midterm election. Below, see some photos from Women's Week in Provincetown. [caption id="attachment_65523" align="aligncenter" width="700"]Lea DeLaria performs on stage.
