Between domestic and abroad ski resorts, community-based get-togethers, and lineups that feature A-list talent and queer celebs, there’s no shortage of options.
All you need is a flight, some friends, and probably a good winter jacket too!
Below, we’ve compiled your guide to the can’t-miss gay celebrations happening all throughout ski season.
January

Where: Aspen, Colorado
Aspen Gay Ski Week is the oldest annual seven-day LGBTQ+ ski event in the U.S., so it’s safe to say they’ve perfected the art. Expect comedy nights, drag performances, delicious restaurants, and even a downhill costume contest.

Where: Swiss Alps, Switzerland
Arosa Gay Ski Week isn’t just a queer celebration, but a rite of passage for anyone looking to immerse themselves fully in Europe’s skiing community. Trust us, aprés ski and social skiing and boarding are the main focus, but there’s plenty of action happening off the slopes, too.

Where: Stowe, Vermont

Where: Park City, Utah
Elevation Utah is a dream destination for film gays and ski pros alike. Set in the historic and scenic Park City, Utah, where the long-running Sundance Film Festival laid its hat for years, the resort destination is surprisingly accessible — only a half an hour away from the Salt Lake City airport.

Where: Telluride, Colorado
From gay chalet to a ski parade, glitter ball, and drag performances, Telluride’s annual Gay Ski Week is a staple in the queer snow bunny community. This year’s big event is hosted by Gus Kenworthy, and will feature performances by comedian Joe Dombrowski and queens like Manila Luzon.

Where: Hakuba Valley, Japan
Your excuse to splurge on a dream ski trip in Japan is here! Their annual LGBTQ+ event promises 9 days filled with skiing, snowboarding, drinking, karaoke, yoga, snowmobiling, drag performances, and even sushi-making classes.
When: March 18-March 22
Where: Mammoth Lakes, CA
After 23 years of hitting the slopes in Mammoth Lakes, the beloved queer event has the same core mission: “2,500 rides. 12 majors parties. 0 attitude.” Expect scenic lodging, can’t-miss parties, and lots of friend-making on the mountains.

Where: French Alps, France
If you’re looking to hit the slopes in style, look no further than Europe’s biggest LGBTQ+ winter sports event. More than 2,000 queer folks journey out to Val Thorens for a week of community, parties, show-stopping cabaret performances, and, of course, tons of skiing.
Bonus: According to past visitors, it’s both group and solo-traveler-friendly.

Where: Solden, Austria
There’s no better time to bask in Austrian culture than its annual queer ski week, where drag queens serve as hosts, the parties are inescapable, and the only thing bigger than pride is the slopes.

Tignes has a reputation for being the sportiest town in France, so visitors can expect some of the best alpine skiing on the globe, alongside scenic views, and one of the most welcoming resort towns in all of Europe.
