College jock photo shoots are increasingly cheesy, fun and a touch campy
College sports teams love to show off their athletes in all sorts of poses, many unrelated to the sport they play. The post College jock photo shoots are increasingly cheesy, fun and a touch campy appeared first on Outsports.

A notable trend in this era of social media is men’s college sports teams doing their own photo shoots in the manner of centerfolds — flexing, posing, showing off and generally goofing off. It’s fun with an element of camp.
Take Misha Andriyuk, a Stanford diver, who loves to show off his rocking bod and that of some teammates, finishing their session looking like so many Russian nesting dolls in their swim trunks, one on top of the other.
I am regularly sent these by a friend and also fed to me by the Reddit algorithm via the subreddit Simply Sporty, a vast repository of such images (mostly G-rated), whose users somehow find such shots from large schools and sports along with small schools and programs I barely knew existed.
As for why this is a thing, I am guessing because it’s college kids having fun and with sites like Instagram, they can draw attention to the athletes and their programs as opposed to simply being a link on a larger school athletics website. We at Outsports vigorously applaud.
